WASP Hockey was formed some 17 years ago. At first we were a hockey factory making sticks for top world brands but about 10 years ago we decided to start to build up our own WASP brand name in world hockey. Since then we've worked hard to spread the WASP name worldwide with the help of our global partners. We've exhibited at most of the main world hockey events especially the World Cup and Champions Trophies in Holland. We launched our first website in 1999.

WASP Hockey's philosophy is simple. We all eat, sleep and breathe hockey. Our sales staff all have a hockey background, Norman Hughes, our Managing Director, captained England in World and European Cups and Great Britain to bronze at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
He coached Great Britain's Men's squad in the Barcelona Olympics. Norman is currently an Academy coach and plays for Wakefield Hockey Club.

Our two craftsmen Vince and Ernie have been working in wood and reinforcement materials for over 25 years so they know a thing or two about quality.

Pam Hughes, our Sales Administration Manager played Regional hockey and is currently Chairman of Wakefield Hockey Club Junior section. She and a team of coaches and volunteers look after 130 youngsters each Sunday morning. Pam left teaching to join WASP in 1999.

Our young graphic design team know very little about hockey and we like it that way. Leigh Rollin and his team, Mark, Mat, Linsey and Sam develop striking new cosmetic designs which challenges hockey. We hope you like their radical approach.

As you can see WASP has a small dedicated team and we intend to keep it that way. Hands on control of quality is very important to us all. We work hard to supply the best possible products at a fair value for money price. We don't sell anything that we would not be happy to use ourselves. Take gumshields for instance. Many many players have asked us to stock this item but we will not do this because the best advice to any player concerning this very important item of protection is to visit your dentist. Only this way can you be certain of a gumshield which is professionally fitted and manufactured. Only this way can you best safeguard your teeth.

We listen to what players like and want and try to react. Most of our new range has come about by having listened to partners, coaches and players for the past two years. Having our own factory brings us many quality benefits which we can pass onto the player. We limit the production of our Z series sticks to 4,000 units per annum so the owners of a Z series stick are part of a pretty exclusive club. Everything we do is driven by quality at a fair price.

We hope you enjoy our new range and website. Feel free to email us with your comments on sales@wasphockey.co.uk. Better still call in and meet us. You'll find a location map in the email/contact us section. Get in touch with us if your club or school is holding a hockey festival or tournament and would like WASP hockey to display products at this event.

Happy surfing!
